Once a week, an R4 or R5 must initiate the Undead Invasion if the alliance is going to participate. When this happens, ALL alliance members will be attacked by 20 waves of undead warriors, led by the dreaded Undead General. They will march upon your city whether you are bubbled or not.
ALLIANCE/PLAYER STRATEGY:
First of all, any good alliance will want everyone to participate in order to maximize alliance scores and rewards. Also its about maximizing your own scores to get personal rewards.
So how to maximize both alliance and personal scores?
First of all we start the undead invasions so far from the hive that those who wish can get points first for 20 marches and then port back to hive in order to catch the undead wave there by reinforcing other players.
To be specific this is how it can be done:
A group of players port together to a new map location far enough from hive that they can finish 20 rounds and get back to hive to catch 20 waves there. About 600 meters from hive should be good.
When the players have ported it important that each player reinforces as many other players as they have marches for. When reinforcing send only your 4 or 5 highest tier troops, no fill layers. Make the march and equal of all types.
Once everyone has reinforced everyone we start the undead event.
When all the 20 undead marches has been completed we all port back to alliance hive and reinforce another 5 or 6 layers depending on each players max marches.
Why do it this way:
As a player, the more reinforcements you have the more points you earn. Each time your reinforcements kill undead troops you get points also, this also gives additional points to the alliance overall scoring. In other words, the more points we all can get the better the rewards for both personal and alliance we get!
Even if you get some more wounded by reinforcing others, the rewards you get back usually outweighs any losses you have by a fair margin.
General info and mechanics of undead event:
If you fail to get a Kill Rate of 50% or more, and your Defense Failed. Fail two times and you are out of the fight. This means that no more waves will attack you. Usually you ask for reinforcements if you know you cant defend 20 waves by your self. You also score points from any reinforcements you still have in other keeps!
Successfully Defending your Keep:
Similar to PvP, when Undead enemies attack your castle, you will want the best defense general, as well as most of your troops in the keep to help defend against attacks.
Some general defensive tips for Undead waves include:
Have your best defense general on the wall, with gear
Recall your troops from gathering or relics
Heal as many troops as you can before the event starts
Apply attack, defense and HP buffs
Wear the right monarch gear for your best defense, or the ares set to boost all attributes
Put on the healing (Medicine Crown) to reduce heal times in the hospital
Or, put on the research (Intellect Crown) to research short timed research - taking advantage of your alliance pressing "help" during the event.
Ask for reinforcement or help when you are about to lose a wave - usually when you can't kill at least 80% of that Undead wave by looking at the reports.
There are a total of 20 Undead waves during the event, each increasing in difficulty.
Most waves comprise of equal numbers of Ground, Ranged, Mounted and Siege troops, in increasing amounts per wave. There are no layers in each wave, and the level of the troops stay the same throughout the event.
The level of the troops is determined by the level of the keep that it's marching on.
Given that there are no layers in Undead marches, and you will face each type of troop evenly, you should have a balanced troop composition to defend each wave effectively. This means you will ideally have troops of each type, for each level, otherwise known as layering.
At higher keep levels, you might notice that every fifth wave is exclusively ground type. This would be the 5th, 10th, 15th and 20th waves.
Keep an eye out for these specific waves to make sure you can handle the extra ground troops, best countered with mounted troops in the keep.
Strategically Maximizing Points during Undead Event in Evony TKR:
Points calculated per individual is based only on two factors during the Undead event:
How many waves you successfully defeated from your keep
How many enemies you killed while reinforcing your alliance
Since the number of waves is fixed, the number of points you get for the first portion is 20 waves multiplied by the points at your keep level.
For example, a keep level 30 defeating all 20 waves would net you a total of 3,900,000 points. Pretty simple.
However, there is much more strategy in maximizing the number of enemies you kill when reinforcing your alliance, which makes a big difference in individual Monarch rankings.
There are two factors which contribute to this:
How many keeps you can reinforce during the event, or strategically choosing where to start Undead
How many troops you can kill per keep reinforced, or strategically choosing which keeps to reinforce
Choosing Alliance Keeps to Reinforce during Undead:
There's some mystery behind how points are calculated for reinforcing alliance keeps during Undead waves. However, the key thing to note is that the more enemies you kill, the more points you get.
The player you are reinforcing does not lose points, so it's more beneficial for you and your alliance to maximize the troops killed during each Undead wave.
A few tips to maximizing troops killed per reinforced keep during Undead invasion:
Be the only person reinforcing a keep - otherwise, you and your alliance are fighting for points between each other.
Pick slightly lower level keeps to reinforce - so your troops can dominate and kill more Undead troops.
Send highest level troops out - for example, level 12 troops to reinforce a keep that has level 11 troops, level 14 troops to reinforce a keep that has level 13 troops. This is to ensure your higher power troops get to the Undead fighters first.
Send siege or archers - especially if you have level 13 or 14 siege, ideally with a siege range boosting general. Siege has long range and can easily target lower level Undead troops first.
Following the tips above, you can easily get 10,000 to 12,000 points per wave, per keep you reinforce.
If you are not getting those scores, check the battle reports and make sure your defending troops are killing the most Undead they can. If not, try changing your reinforcing troop type.
Real world Example:
Last time I did this strategy i managed to complete 6 reinforcements at first location and another six reinforcements in the hive. (6x6). Obviously personal rewards will vary based on what final ranking you get, in this example i ranked 1st place on server so all personal rewards are max you can achieve. Also in this example our alliance ranked second on server.
Double undead scores (6x6 reinforces)

As you see all my personal rewards plus alliance rewards far outweighs anything i had lost. Each player should evaluate their own outcome, resources lost verses resources gained from event.
Things to Know and Tips:
Undead do not plunder your city's resources.
The Undead's Power increases every wave, making it really hard to make it to the 20th march.
Remember, Truce Agreements do not stop the Undead Invasion.
Sub Cities do not fight for you during Undead.
Remember, unless you want to NOT be in the Undead Invasion, don't use any kind of City Port.
You will not receive any rewards if you don't at least participate, so it is better to fail the first two marches by sending troops off your city and killing Undead with some traps then it is to port.
If undead happens during SVS make sure your BUBBLE is good! Aslo, if someone Reinforces you while you are unbubbled, and an enemy attacks your city, your ally just lost a whole lot of troops too, making it even harder to do Undead for them as well.
Don't Reinforce anyone who is unbubbled. Let 'em burn. It happened to me before. I was Reinforcing an unbubbled city during Undead and some jerk came in and wiped out my troops and that unbubbled player's troops. I learned not to make that mistake again.
HEAL! After every wave, heal your troops. That is really the only way you will make it to the 20th march unless you are REALLY tough.
ALLIANCE HELP! Hit the Alliance Help a lot during Undead Invasion, between waves, so that you can help heal your fellow alliance members' troops.
USE BUFFS!!! After the first wave, go into your Items menu, to the Special Items tab and use an Attack and Defense and HP increase, if you have any. These will only help you survive with less wounded.
PUT ON YOUR MONARCH GEAR! In your Monarch gear, there is a Medicine Crown that helps you heal faster. Also, putting on gear that gives buffs to Ground and Ranged troops will help them fight better. You don't need mounted as much as Ground and Ranged at this point, so focus on them.
Finally, and this is just a little extra, upgrade a building or two during Undead. Every time someone hits Alliance Help (certain restrictions apply), your timer goes down on your building. You can burn through some serious upgrade time by upgrading during Undead.
